Antihero

The sky was gently rippling, a pale moon in her hair
A yellow bird took its last breath of air
Man fell to his knees.“Try to understand,”
He cried as he clasped those coal darkened hands

Begging,“All I need is you
You will keep me warm
All through the night
Do me no harm”
But his dreams, they weren't hers

She was no maiden but wise and without fears
Yet from her ancient eyes fell coal black tears.
She left him to the dust to cry with the pigs
Buried him deep within her dry ragged ribs

Crying,“I'm no pixie dream
I can't mend your heart
I won't hold your hand
Through your story arch”
'Cause his dreams, they weren't hers

Gently, She said to him
“I am no antihero
Won't play the tortured soul with you”

Have you heard his fortress has almost fallen?

Her words will ring true
When it's too late, he'll cry

“I'm no antihero
Won't fall with you, oh no!
I'm no antihero
Won't play the tortured soul with you”.
